You want it, you really do but subconsciously you’re scared shitless. You remember the pain from him, you know how much he hurt you. That was the last time you put your heart on the line and it hurt. You can’t get over that. Been there, done that. It’s hard to like somebody as much as you did last time because you don’t want to go through that pain again. You need to realize that love is a battlefield and sometimes the risk is worth the reward. If you never put your heart out there it can never get broken, you’ll never know what it’s like for it to be whole again. You need to stop worrying about it getting hurt, just take the jump and don’t look down.
